Tango of Life: Decision-Making & Serendipity

Yesterday I was reminded of the connection between decision-making and serendipity.

When we finally and whole-heartedly make a decision to follow the path of authentic, soulful living, then serendipitous waves of opportunity often follow like a wealth of spring blossoms emerging from dormancy.

Life often supports us in unexpected ways when we’re really decisive, committed, and cooperative.

When those waves of ideas, signs, and interactions arise, we learn to ride them, to work with them, to create with those materials.

On the flip side, sometimes decisiveness gets confused with control and rigidity, which block us from noticing or receiving the waves of serendipity.

Sometimes we need to rest back into soft awareness and wait for the next fertile moment to act, while remaining aligned with the initial decisive commitment to soulful living, no matter what form it takes.

Sometimes, the best decision is to wait for the next serendipitous moment that provides the motivational or creative fuel for the next big decision that we need to make in order to continue down our unique, creative path.

Going with the flow of life requires flexibility and awareness so we know when to make a decision and when to accept the decisions life makes for us.

This is the art of living…creation and receptivity…moving in and moving out…deciding and allowing.
